No.3 Cherry Tree of Ozawa

This single somei yoshino sakura stands in a field next to a small temple dedicated to Koyasu Kannon (Avalokitesvara of children and childbirth). Standing 10.5 meters tall, the tree is rumored to be around 100 years old and to have been planted by local resident in memory of a woman named Sakura. The pastoral surroundings, with fields, flowers and mountains in the distance, are so picturesque that the tree has been used in Japanese movies and movie posters.
