No.64 Usugiyama Park

Usugiyama is a park on a small hill perched above Miyako Bay and Jodogahama Beach in Sanriku Fukko National Park. Today Usugiyama Park has around 100 varieties of 800 sakura that take turns blooming from late April to mid-May. Many visitors also go to Jodogahama Beach to admire the sakura blooming there as well. The site of the famous 1869 Battle of Miyako Bay can be seen from Usugiyama.
