No.55 Kitakami Tenshochi

Kitakami Tenshochi is a park with an amazing 10,000 sakura in 150 varieties that bloom in turns throughout sakura season. The park has deservedly been chosen as one of the top three spots for viewing cherry blossoms in Tohoku. One of the highlights is approximately 500 somei yoshino that started to be planted in 1920 and now form a two-kilometer tunnel of pink blossoms. The Kitakami Tenshochi Sakura Festival is held along the Kitakami River from mid-April to early May.
